The Congregation of the Missionary Brothers of Saint Francis of Assisi, Congregation Missionaria Sancti Francisci (CMSF) is inspired by the Vision, Spirituality and Mission of Saint Francis of Assisi and Brother Paulus Moritz. Brother Paulus Moritz, the Founder of the Congregation, was a visionary of God, who articulated in deeds the dreams of Saint Francis of Assisi, our Seraphic Father.

Brother Paulus Moritz, born in Germany in 1869, whose MISSION for the suffering humanity ignited the lives of hundreds of his followers in the past 117 years in the world. The members of the Congregation persevere in the pursuit of holiness in fidelity to our Charism of “Pioneering Evangelization” and service to the poor, giving light and life to thousands of people on the periphery over the years in different regions of the world.
The Brothers have been called to follow the “Charism” of the Congregation as Franciscans, Missionaries, Evangelizers and Religious Brothers in the Catholic Church. Responding to the signs of the times and places, the Pioneering Charism of the Congregation have found renewed and challenging expressions of Love and Compassion for humanity through schools, boarding homes, orphanages, technical schools, homes for the aged, dispensaries, and other social ministries, especially in Africa and India.
The Brothers engaged in the medical and social ministries in Sugarland and New York in the United States of America for the past one decade have become genuine expressions of peace, love and compassion in the lives of many abandoned and homeless people in India.
This website is launched to establish a community of friends willing to share their blessings to support the social and humanitarian ministries of the CMSF. In collaboration with our friends and benefactors, the Franciscan Missionary Brothers in the United States of America endeavor to address the plight of disadvantaged people in Africa and India, while striving to spread the spirituality and compassionate face of Saint Francis of Assisi and Brother Paulus Moritz.
How else can we unfold our gifts and resources, but by recalling the words of our Founder, Brother Paulus Moritz – “Look after the poor, God will look after you”.
I hope that this message may make you feel united to the Church in Rome where Pope Francis is guiding the people of God with the Spirit of Saint Francis of Assisi.
