HEALTH CARE INITIATIVES

Franciscan Missionary Brothers believe that health is a complete state of physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or illness. We read in the Gospel, “Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.” (Mt.4:23) Love of Christ compels us to work for the wellbeing of the poor and marginalized. Hence, brothers undertake several health initiatives in the rural villages and slums, such as: promotion of community-health, Rural Sanitation, mobile medical program, the mother and child campaign, care and support of people and children infected with HIV/AIDS, people with leprosy, relief and rehabilitation of the disabled and care of elders. We are committed to bring health for all, especially the poor and marginalized people.
