The Congregation was established primarily for the purpose of evangelization. All other activities are to help us reach our primary goal. To evangelize is to make the Kingdom of God present in our world, to transmit the Gospel values of Love, justice, peace and Brother/Sisterhood and to leave this earth somewhat better than we found it when we came here.
The Brothers work in rural and remote villages in communities of three or more sharing God’s life and love through their simple lives. When people express their intent to follow Jesus Christ they are taught and nurtured in Christian faith, catechized and helped to form local community. When sufficient members receive baptism, the center is handed over to the Diocese and the Brothers move on to newer and unreached areas.
Thus, in a span of 117 years, the Congregation has developed and handed over to the respective dioceses more than 100 centres in various parts of India out of which four are flourishing dioceses, more than 60 are vibrant parishes and the rest dynamic mission centers which bear witness to the zealous ministry of the Brothers.
